The basic version (in Sarah’s words) - We crossed paths and I caught Henry’s eye. He told me that I was pretty and I replied with “Your beard is impressive.” We exchanged phone numbers and talked on the phone for hours getting to know each other. We went on our first official date on September 29th, 2021 and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

The Spiritual Version - The year was 2021 and on May 25th the Veronica Family lost a huge piece of their hearts when Henry’s mom passed away. In that exact same year one of Sarah’s best friends, Jazmine, had also lost her father, Mr. Carlos Ojeda. Carlos adored Sarah and valued the friendship she shared with his daughter. He often would crack jokes about Sarah’s rich grandma and always welcomed Sarah into his, and his wife Vicky’s, beautiful home. Carlos was an incredible father. Sarah and Jazmine always swapped stories of how great their dad’s were and are still very proud to be daddy’s girls. Sadly Carlos passed away in March of 2021 after a rough battle of pancreatic cancer.

Now, we aren’t sure how Heaven works but we imagine you become an Angel who looks after the loved ones you had to leave behind. We also believe that everyone up there becomes friends with one another...

When Jazmine’s dad met Henry’s mom, in Heaven, she expressed her worry about how her family was dealing with the grief of her loss. Carlos told her that his family was going through the same thing, he was also worried about his family but knew that he had taught them resilience and knew he had a daughter who not only was strong but was vocal about how she was dealing with the grief of losing a parent. While his daughter, Jazmine, was already happily married (Sarah was the maid of honor in her wedding by the way), she did have a very single best friend who would be the perfect match for her oldest son. In bringing those two together, not only would it be able to become a beautiful love story but would bring two wonderful families comfort in not being alone through the pain of grief.

We truly believe that our love was Heaven sent, the true definition of “A Match Made in Heaven”

You can call it fate or just a big coincidence but here is where we genuinely believe this all to be true…

While Carlos fought through cancer his daughter Jazmine was pregnant with a baby girl, a grand–daughter he would never get the honor to meet on this earth. But before he passed he chose a name that he wanted for the baby. Jazmine and her husband kept the name close to their hearts and didn’t share it until the day she was born.

On September 7th, 2021 the world welcomed Espy Hernandez to the parents of Jazmine and Yeti Hernandez and 22 days later, Henry and Sarah met.

Espy is a short version of the name Esperanza, the name that her late grandfather, Carlos, had chosen for her.

Esperanza is Henry’s mom’s name. ♥️
